The Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP) provides scholarships to individuals from developing countries to pursue master’s degree programs in development-related fields at selected universities around the world.
Who can apply?
Citizens of developing countries with relevant professional experience and a history of supporting their countries’ development efforts.
What is covered?
- Full tuition
- Monthly living stipend
- Round-trip airfare
- Health insurance
- Travel allowance
Eligibility criteria
- Must be a national of a World Bank member developing country
- Not hold dual citizenship of any developed country
- Hold a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) earned at least 3 years before the application deadline
- Have 3 years or more of recent development-related work experience after earning a bachelor’s degree
- Must be employed in development-related work at the time of application
- Must be admitted to one of the JJ/WBGSP participating master’s programs
How to apply?
- Apply and gain admission to a participating master’s program
- Submit the JJ/WBGSP application online via the official World Bank scholarships portal during the application window
- Upload required documents including proof of employment, recommendation letters, statement of purpose, academic transcripts, and admission letter
