The Breakthrough Junior Challenge is an annual global science video competition for students aged 13 to 18. Participants create short, original videos that bring complex topics in physics, life sciences, or mathematics to life in an engaging and creative way.
Who Can Apply?
Students worldwide between the ages of 13 and 18, including homeschooled learners and students with disabilities.
What is Covered?

$250,000 post-secondary scholarship for the winner

$50,000 prize for the teacher who inspired the student
-
$100,000 state-of-the-art science lab for the winner’s school
Eligibility Criteria

Age: 13 or older by May 1, and no older than 18 by October 1 of the competition year

Submission language: English

Applicants must submit original video content no longer than 2 minutes
How to Apply?

Select a concept in physics, life sciences, or mathematics.

Create a short video (maximum 2 minutes) explaining it with creativity and clarity.

Upload the video to YouTube and submit the application online through the Breakthrough Junior Challenge portal.

Take part in peer-to-peer review by scoring other submissions.
