The Shanghai Government Scholarship (SGS) 2026–2027 is a fully funded program for international students to pursue undergraduate, master’s, or doctoral degrees in China. It provides full tuition, accommodation, medical insurance, and monthly stipends of up to CNY 3,500.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a non-Chinese citizen in good health.

Pre-college applicants: High school diploma, under 23.

Bachelor’s applicants: High school diploma, under 25.

Master’s applicants: Bachelor’s degree, under 35.

PhD applicants: Master’s degree, under 40.

Must achieve HSK4 (Chinese language level) and meet program language requirements.

Cannot hold any other Chinese government or organizational scholarship.
How to Apply?

Select your preferred university in Shanghai offering the SGS.

Apply online through the Shanghai Government Scholarship application system and the university’s admission portal.

Submit required documents: academic transcripts, diplomas, passport copy, study plan, letters of recommendation, and proof of language proficiency.

Await university and government review results.
