National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) offers scholarships to international students pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and Ph.D. degrees. The scholarships include tuition waivers, local student tuition rates, and/or monthly stipends to support living expenses.

Who Can Apply?

• Incoming international students applying for admission at NYCU

• Current NYCU students maintaining strong academic performance (minimum GPA: 3.0 for undergraduates, 3.5 for graduate students)

• Students who have not received scholarships or grants from the Taiwan government

What is covered?

• Monthly stipend (approx. NT$33,000 for new Ph.D. students; other awards vary)

• Tuition waiver or tuition charged at local student rates

• Awards may be combined (stipend + tuition support)

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be an international student (non-Taiwanese)

• Meet GPA requirements (3.0 undergraduates, 3.5 graduates)

• Incoming Ph.D. students must show excellent academic performance

• Scholarship recipients must:

  • Submit transcripts and tuition receipts each semester

  • Enroll in Mandarin courses (4 courses for undergraduates, 2 for graduates)

  • Follow NYCU scholarship regulations
