The MIT Summer Research Program (MSRP) 2026 is a fully funded summer program for undergraduate students, designed to promote graduate education and research opportunities at MIT. Participants gain hands-on research experience across multiple departments, develop skills for future graduate studies, and enjoy social outings in the Boston area.
Who Can Apply?
Undergraduate students from the U.S. and international students enrolled in U.S. institutions, with strong academic performance and an interest in pursuing graduate studies.

Eligibility Criteria:

Minimum 3.5 GPA overall or in major (on a 4.0 scale)

Enrolled full-time in a degree-granting program at a U.S. institution (excluding MIT)

Must not graduate before December 2026

Interest in pursuing a graduate degree at MIT (excluding Sloan professional programs)

U.S. citizens, permanent residents, DACA recipients, or eligible international students enrolled at U.S. institutions

Ineligible: Students completing bachelor’s degrees outside the U.S. or exchange students
