The KAUST Visiting Student Research Program (VSRP) is a fully funded internship for undergraduate (third-year) and Master’s students worldwide. Interns work on research projects aligned with their interests under the supervision of KAUST faculty, gaining hands-on experience in cutting-edge STEM fields. Participants can choose flexible start and end dates throughout the year.

Who Can Apply?

  • Undergraduate students in their third year of a Bachelor’s program

  • Graduate students enrolled in a Master’s program

  • Applicants from all countries

  • Minimum GPA: 3.5/4.0 or 14/20 (ECTS B)

  • English proficiency: TOEFL iBT ≥ 79 or IELTS ≥ 6.5

What Is Covered:

  • $1,000 monthly stipend

  • Private room & bath

  • Return airfare

  • Access to KAUST labs and research facilities

  • Participation in social and cultural activities

  • Flexible start and end dates

  • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, BioEngineering, BioScience, Marine Science, Chemistry, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Energy Resources & Petroleum Engineering, Materials Science, Statistics, Environmental Science & Engineering, Earth Science & Engineering, Plant Science

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Third-year Bachelor’s or Master’s student

  • GPA ≥ 3.5/4.0 or 14/20

  • English proficiency (TOEFL or IELTS)

  • Current PhD candidates, KAUST students, or alumni are not eligible

How to Apply:

  • Choose an internship project and create an account on the KAUST VSRP portal

  • Submit required documents: official transcripts, CV, statement of purpose, letter of recommendation, and valid passport

  • Faculty will contact successful applicants to discuss details
