The Imperial College London Global Development Fellowship 2026 offers fully funded short-term research opportunities for outstanding PhD students from Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Lower Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). Fellows will spend 2 to 4 months conducting research at Imperial College London under joint supervision from their home and host supervisors.
The fellowship supports international collaboration, research capacity building, and the advancement of global education and development.
Financial Benefits

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be current doctoral (PhD) students.
- Hold citizenship and permanent residence in a Least Developed or Lower Middle-Income Country (as per DAC List of ODA Recipients 2024–25).
- Be enrolled in a PhD program at an institution within an LDC or LMIC.
- Have completed at least 12 months of PhD study before the fellowship placement.
- Demonstrate English proficiency (formal test not required).

- Letter of Support from an Imperial College host supervisor.
- Letter of Recommendation from your current PhD supervisor.
