Hzb International Summer Program 2026 | Fully Funded Research Opportunity in Germany

Spend your summer in Germany conducting hands-on research at the Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB)! This fully funded 8-week summer program gives international Bachelor’s and Master’s students a chance to work alongside top scientists on research projects in areas like Photon Science, Quantum Materials, and Renewable Energy.


Who Can Apply?

  • Open to all nationalities (EU and non-EU students).

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or master’s students in:

    • Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, Materials Science, Environmental Science, or related fields.

  • Must have completed at least 2 years of full-time study.

  • Good English communication skills.


What’s Covered?

 Monthly Allowance:

  • €1900 (for non-European students)

  • €1000 (for European students)
    Travel Grant:

  • Up to €800 (non-European) or €200 (European)
    Free Accommodation
    No IELTS / Application Fee Required


Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a full-time enrolled student at the time of application.

  • Must participate for the entire program duration (6 July–28 August 2026).

  • Provide a Letter of Recommendation from a professor or researcher.
