Since 1949, AASA’s Educational Administration Scholarships have supported outstanding graduate students preparing for a career in school superintendency. Seven top candidates each year receive financial awards in recognition of their leadership potential and commitment to advancing education.

Who Can Apply?

• Graduate students in educational administration

• Students intending to pursue a career as a school superintendent

What is Covered?

• $2,500 scholarship award (seven recipients annually)

Eligibility Criteria

• Must be a graduate student in educational administration

• Must be recommended by the chair or dean of the School of Education where enrolled

• Only one application per college/university campus may be submitted

• Application must include:

  • Three essay responses to career-related questions

  • One letter of recommendation from the chair/dean of the School of Education

  • Two letters of endorsement (one from a school system officer or faculty member; one from a community leader)
