Join the EPSRC & BBSRC Centre for Doctoral Training (Net2Zero) – a collaboration between Aston University, University of Nottingham, Queen’s University Belfast, and University of Warwick. Conduct cutting-edge research in engineered negative emission technologies to help the UK and the world reach net zero.
Who Can Apply?
UK home-fee students from diverse backgrounds, including underrepresented groups in higher education.
Professionals with non-traditional academic paths are welcome.
What is Covered?

Full tuition fees

4-year tax-free stipend (£20,780 for 2025/26)

Generous research training support grant for travel, training, and project costs

Placement opportunities (3–6 months) with industry, policymakers, or collaborators
Eligibility Criteria:

Master’s degree in a relevant subject with 60%+ average (or expected)

First or Upper Second-Class Honours (or equivalent) in a relevant subject

Passion for climate solutions and research in NET themes
