The Romania Government Scholarships 2026–2027 provide fully funded opportunities for international students from non-EU countries to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD studies in Romania. The scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, and a monthly stipend, enabling scholars to gain a world-class education in a wide range of fields.


 What the Scholarship Covers

  • Full tuition fee coverage
  • Free accommodation in Romanian student residences (subject to availability)
  • Monthly stipend: up to €80 (varies by study cycle)
  • Note: Travel, meals, and personal expenses are not covered

  • International students from non-EU countries
  • Candidates applying for Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD programs in eligible fields

 Not available for: Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy


 
Eligibility Criteria

  • Non-EU nationality (with specific exceptions)
  • Cannot be of Romanian origin or part of Romanian historical communities near Romania
  • Cannot hold asylum/protection status in Romania
  • Cannot be staff/relatives of diplomatic missions, consular offices, or international organizations in Romania
  • Must not already hold a Romanian state scholarship for the same study cycle
  • Must present valid academic documents from accredited institutions
  • Must have a minimum academic average of 7/10 (“Good”) in previous studies
  • Age limits:
    • Under 35 years for Bachelor’s/Master’s
    • Under 45 years for PhD/Postgraduate

 How to Apply

  1. Apply exclusively online through the official platform of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Romania.
  2. Upload required documents (application form, transcripts, diploma, CV, passport copy, language proof, medical certificate).
  3. Applications must be submitted in Romanian, English, or French (official translations accepted).
  4. Wait for evaluation and final decision by the MFA and Ministry of Education.
