Montana State University is offering a fully funded Master’s Graduate Assistantship beginning January 2026. This assistantship supports students in rangeland and fire ecology, wildlife biology, and natural resource management with comprehensive funding and hands-on field experience.

Domestic and international students with strong academic and fieldwork backgrounds in related fields.

What is Covered?

  • Annual stipend of ~$30,000

  • Full tuition and tuition fees

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must hold a B.S. degree in rangeland ecology, fire ecology, wildlife biology, natural resource management, or a related field

  • Experience in field data collection (vegetation, soils, wildlife)

  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills; GIS/remote sensing knowledge is a plus

  • Ability to work independently in remote field conditions and as part of a collaborative team

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
