The Mastercard Foundation, in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU), is offering fully funded graduate scholarships for young African changemakers who are ready to lead innovation and sustainable development across the continent. This hybrid program combines world-class online learning from ASU with on-the-ground mentorship and support from Kepler College in Rwanda.
Who Can Apply?
- Citizens of African countries
- Holders of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- Emerging leaders committed to community transformation, innovation, and sustainability
- Applicants who cannot afford to study abroad without financial assistance

- Accommodation and living costs
- Leadership training & mentorship
- Comprehensive academic and personal support
- 2-month funded internship between study years
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a citizen of an African country
- Must have completed an undergraduate degree within the last five years
- Meet ASU’s admission and English language requirements.
- Demonstrate academic excellence and leadership potential.
How to Apply
- Apply online through the Mastercard Foundation–ASU application portal.
- Submit all required documents: academic transcripts, personal statement, references, and proof of citizenship.
- Applications are jointly reviewed by ASU and Kepler College, Rwanda.
