The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) is a prestigious, fully funded program by the Korean government. It offers international students the opportunity to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Korea, promoting academic exchange and building lasting friendships between Korea and participating countries.


 Who Can Apply?

  • International students (non-Korean citizens)
  • Applicants 18–25 years old
  • High school graduates (or those expecting to graduate before the program starts)
  • Students with excellent academic standing (80% percentile or higher)

 What is Covered?

  • Full tuition fees
  • Monthly living stipend
  • Round-trip airfare
  • Korean language training (1 year, if required)
  • Medical insurance
  • Settlement & research support allowances

 Eligibility Criteria

  • Must not hold Korean citizenship (single nationality only)
  • Dual nationality with Korea is not allowed
  • Age: 18–25 years old
  • Completed (or about to complete) high school education
  • No prior receipt of another Korean Government scholarship
  • Must be in good physical and mental health (to pass required medical checks)
  • No criminal record
  • Strong academic performance (minimum 80% percentile or higher)

 How to Apply?

  1. Choose application track:
    • Embassy Track (apply through the Korean Embassy in your country)
    • University Track (apply directly to a designated Korean university)
  2. Submit all required documents: application form, personal statement, study plan, academic transcripts, recommendation letters, proof of nationality, medical assessment, etc.
  3. Shortlisted candidates undergo screening, interviews, and language evaluations.
  4. Final selection is announced by NIIED (National Institute for International Education, Korea).
