The University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) Scholarship offers full financial support to exceptional students from Sub-Saharan Africa. This program is designed to develop public health leaders equipped to strengthen health systems and drive positive social and economic development across the continent.
What the Scholarship Covers
- Full tuition fees
- Travel expenses
- Housing and food allowance
- Books and academic materials
- Other living and program-related expenses
Who Can Apply?
- Citizens currently residing in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Graduates of a partner institution of the Africa Health Collaborative (and not yet started a doctoral program)
Eligibility Criteria
- Must hold a Master’s degree and demonstrate academic excellence
- Proven leadership qualities during undergraduate and Master’s studies
- Academically admissible to the Doctor of Public Health program at U of T
- Commitment to return to home country for the final 2 years of the program to contribute to Africa’s economic and social development
How to Apply
- Review eligibility and partner institution list on the University of Toronto Mastercard Foundation Scholarship website.
- Apply for admission to the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at the University of Toronto.
- Submit the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship application with all supporting documents (transcripts, CV, personal statement, references).
- Await review and possible interview before final selection.
