The Rhodes Scholarship for West Africa offers exceptional students from 16 West African countries the chance to pursue fully funded postgraduate studies at the University of Oxford. This world-renowned award covers tuition, living expenses, and travel, while providing scholars with leadership training and a lifelong global network.

Who Can Apply?
Citizens or legal residents of West African countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Saint Helena, Senegal, Sierra Leone, São Tomé and Principe, and Togo.

What is Covered?

• Full tuition fees at the University of Oxford

• Annual stipend for living expenses

• Travel costs to and from Oxford at the start and end of the program

• Visa and health insurance fees

Eligibility Criteria:

• Hold citizenship or legal residency in an eligible West African country.

• Aged between 19 and 25 on 1 October 2025 (some exceptions for older candidates)

• Have completed, or be on track to complete, an undergraduate degree with a high academic standing (sufficient for Oxford admission)

• Meet the English language proficiency requirements of the University of Oxford.
