Two prestigious Rhodes Scholarships are available annually for outstanding students from Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine to study at the University of Oxford. One of these awards is exclusively for Syrian candidates. The scholarship supports exceptional individuals committed to leadership, service, and making a positive global impact.

Who Can Apply?
Citizens or legal residents of Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, or Palestine meeting the Rhodes eligibility criteria for the SJLP constituency.

What is Covered?

• All University of Oxford course fees

• Annual stipend for living expenses

• Travel allowance for arrival to and return from Oxford

• Additional support for research, conferences, and visa costs

Eligibility Criteria

• Citizenship or legal residency in Syria, Jordan, Lebanon, or Palestine

• Meet age requirements (varies slightly per constituency — usually 18–24 years)

• Completed or on track to complete an undergraduate degree by the start date at Oxford

• Demonstrated academic excellence, leadership skills, integrity, and commitment to service

• Meet the University of Oxford’s English language proficiency requirements
