The BCDI 2030 program, funded by Global Affairs Canada, offers 600 study and training scholarships in Canada, with a focus on reducing inequalities and advancing social and economic development in 26 eligible countries. The program ensures at least 51% female participation and prepares scholars to become agents of change in their communities upon return.

Who can apply?

The BCDI 2030 program is open to students from 26 eligible countries. However, applications are not submitted individually—candidates must apply through a partnership between a Canadian higher education institution (HEI) and an HEI from their home country. Each project sets its own selection criteria.

What is covered?

The scholarship provides funding for study and training opportunities in Canada, including vocational and technical training. It focuses on priority areas aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and aims to reduce inequalities while strengthening social and economic development.

Eligibility criteria?

  • Candidates must be from one of the 26 eligible countries.
