The University of Kansas (KU) offers a Master of Science (MS) in Civil Engineering designed for full-time graduate students. The program provides flexible pathways—thesis, project, or coursework-only options—allowing students to specialize in areas like construction engineering, environmental systems, geotechnical engineering, transportation, structural engineering, or water resources.

Who Can Apply?
Domestic and international students with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or closely related field) and a minimum GPA of 3.0.

What is Covered?

  • Graduate Research Assistantships (GRA) & Graduate Teaching Assistantships (GTA) providing tuition, fees, and salary

  • Scholarships and fellowships from KU Graduate Studies, School of Engineering, and CEAE Department

  • Opportunities for supplemental funding, including the Self Graduate Fellowship (for outstanding doctoral-track students)

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Strong academic performance (minimum 3.0 GPA)

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field

  • Commitment to full-time study

  • Admission to KU’s CEAE graduate program

  • International students must meet English language proficiency requirements (TOEFL/IELTS)
