The UBC Public Scholars Initiative (PSI) 2025/26 supports doctoral students engaged in publicly impactful research by providing up to $20,000 in funding. The initiative fosters collaboration, career relevance, and interdisciplinary scholarship, ensuring students’ work contributes beyond academia. A dedicated Health Equity Stream is also available.
Who can apply?

UBC Vancouver & UBC Okanagan doctoral students (PhD, EdD, DMA, including part-time PhD students).

Must be in years 1-5 of their doctoral program (exceptionally, students in year 6 may apply with prior approval).

Must be registered in a UBC doctoral program by September 1, 2025.
